February 28 – Breakfast with Ray Owens
Thank you to all who attended this event. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you again in April!
Public relations missteps, accidents in the workplace and unsanctioned actions of rogue employees happen way too often. When they do, business leaders are put on the spot. Actions and answers are demanded, and there is no time to call a series of meetings. It is one of the ultimate tests of leadership.
Those who succeed in times of corporate crisis do so through preparation – often having a sequence of steps already in place to mitigate and contain such incidents. Those who find themselves in difficult situations without contingency plans in place can easily run the risk causing long-term damage to their personal, professional and company’s hard-earned reputations.
On Tuesday, February 28, Strategic Leadership Forum of the Carolinas will host a breakfast event featuring attorney and crisis mitigation expert, Ray Owens, from 7:30-9:30 AM. Mr. Owens will provide a dynamic, interactive presentation on key strategies and steps senior leaders need to know in order to avoid having an unfortunate event spin out of control.
This SLF program is designed to equip senior leaders to better deal with these issues – by having a better understanding of the right and wrong things to do in the first 72 hours of an internal or external crisis. While incidents such as the recent Costa Concordia cruise ship disaster garner international exposure for failure to do and say the right things, we have plenty of examples here in Charlotte, and we have all seen how quickly opinions can be formed about leaders and their organizations as a result of how sensitive incidents are handled.
Space is limited to 80 participants, and will be held at the Foundation For The Carolinas in uptown Charlotte. Cost includes a continental breakfast, served from 7:30-8:00 AM. Nearby paid parking is available at the Fifth Third Center, Hearst Tower and Discovery Place parking garages.
